Weaving Project #3

Another weaving project! First larger project on the same tiny loom and I used my handspun yarn. My warping pegs (brackets attached to my grow light stand) worked super well and I was very pleased with how they worked. So all my projects will be 46 inches long for a while. I learned that the warp yarn should be less stretchy. I used Dorset Horn 3 ply which worked okay except it would stretch, and until I completed some weaving and advanced the warp, it stretched too much. I also learned you can put too much tension on your warp. The other thought was this would be warp faced. If your weft is thicker than your warp, you won’t get warp faced. I had planned to do warp faced for this project then aim for a balanced warp next project but I got my balanced project instead. All in all, I’m super happy with this and it will become the strap for my full sized backstrap loom once I get my larger loom bars. Next project: swapping the warp and weft yarns to see what happens. I think the teeswater will be interesting as warp. I also need to wet finish this I think.
